Most checklist apps want you to make an account before you can share anything. CheckMyBoxes doesn't. Build a list, pick a look you like, and hit "copy shareable link" — the whole checklist, including every item and whether it's checked, is packed into that one link. Text it, email it, drop it in a group chat. Whoever opens it sees exactly what you made.
There's no account and no database behind this site. When you build a checklist, your browser compresses it and writes it directly into the page's URL. Opening that link decompresses it back into a checklist — nothing is fetched from a server to render your list. That's also why it's fast: the page is just a static file, wherever you open it.
The one exception is link previews. When you text or message a link, apps like iMessage, Telegram, or Discord ask our server for a quick preview card before anyone taps it — a small helper on our end reads the checklist in the link long enough to generate that one preview image, then forgets it. Nothing about your list is stored afterward.
Packing lists, moving-day checklists, grocery runs — these are almost always things one person plans and other people need to see. A screenshot doesn't update. A shared doc needs a login. A link that just is the checklist felt like the obvious answer, so we built it.
